By MarkZone Technology Updated Lesson 13 of 15 · 4:55 · Narrated in Arabic

Every dirham you spend deserves to be recorded. When expenses sit in the same system as your sales, you see your real profit, not just your turnover. This lesson shows how OxPOS records and organises your shop’s daily costs.

What this video covers

  • The Expense Management dashboard
  • Adding a new expense
  • Organising expenses by category
  • Recurring expenses and how to set them up
  • Adding VAT to expenses
  • Following total expenses in real time

Step by step

  1. Open Expense Management. The summary shows your total spending.
  2. Add an expense. Enter the amount, date and a short note.
  3. Choose a category, for example rent, utilities, transport or maintenance. Categories make your reports meaningful.
  4. Add VAT if the expense includes it.
  5. Set up recurring expenses such as monthly rent, so you don’t need to enter them every month.
  6. Review totals regularly to see where your money goes.

Why it matters

Many small shops know their daily sales but not their true profit. Recording expenses in OxPOS, next to purchases and salaries, completes the picture and feeds the profit and loss report.

Tips

  • Record expenses daily. Small cash costs are easy to forget by the end of the week.
  • Keep categories few and clear. Eight to ten categories are usually enough.
  • Check the month-end total against your budget and adjust early.
