OxPOS Tour: Dashboard and POS Sales Screen

Start here: a video tour of the OxPOS dashboard and point-of-sale screen, from reading your sales figures to scanning your first barcode.

By MarkZone Technology Updated Lesson 1 of 15 · 4:06 · Narrated in Arabic

This is the first lesson in the OxPOS series and the best place to start. In four minutes it shows the two screens you will use every day in OxPOS: the dashboard, where you read your numbers, and the point-of-sale screen, where your cashier sells.

What this video covers

  • The main dashboard and how to read your sales figures at a glance.
  • Opening the POS screen and starting your first sale.
  • The key buttons on the POS screen: Customer, Discount, Park Sale and Sales History.
  • Scanning a barcode to add a product straight to the basket.

Step by step

  1. Log in and review the dashboard. Before selling, look at the day’s figures. This becomes a daily habit that tells you whether the shop is on track.
  2. Open the POS screen. This is the cashier’s workspace, designed so a new staff member can learn it quickly.
  3. Attach a customer if needed. The Customer button links the sale to a customer account, so their balance and purchase history stay up to date.
  4. Scan or search for products. Scanning a barcode adds the item to the basket instantly. You can also search by name.
  5. Apply a discount. Use the Discount button for an item or the whole invoice. Each user’s discount limit is set by the owner.
  6. Park a sale when you need to. If a customer steps away, park the sale, serve the next person, then return to it.
  7. Check Sales History. Reopen past receipts to reprint them or process a return.

Why it matters

OxPOS brings sales, stock, purchases, expenses, staff, branches and reports into one system. Understanding the dashboard and the POS screen first makes every other lesson easier, because each module feeds the numbers you see here.

Tips for your first day

  • Test with a few real products first. Scan them, park a sale and reprint a receipt so the team is comfortable.
  • Link regular customers. Customer accounts make balances and purchase history easy to follow.
  • Keep the dashboard as your morning check. Five seconds a day saves surprises at month end.

Next lesson

Before real selling, set up OxPOS from scratch: company details, VAT, invoice templates and payment methods. Every lesson is listed on the video tutorials page.

FAQ

Common questions

What can I see on the OxPOS dashboard?

The dashboard summarises your sales figures so you can see how the shop is doing as soon as you log in, before opening the POS screen.

What is a parked sale?

Parking a sale puts the current basket on hold so you can serve the next customer, then reopen the parked sale and complete it later.

Does OxPOS work in Arabic?

Yes. OxPOS works in Arabic and English, with thermal receipts and a custom label and invoice designer.
